  • Big Bill and Bryan Keith vs. Top Flight
  • Jamie Hayter vs. Queen Aminata
  • We’ll hear from Timeless Toni Storm

AEW Collision Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with Timeless Toni Storm in the ring for a promo. Storm immediately calls out Megan Bayne, who doesn’t come out. Storm admits that Bayne was the better woman on Dynamite; she is embarrassed, hurt, and ashamed.

Toni says the worst part is that Bayne made it look so easy. Storm says she went back to her hotel and wondered if that’s what would happen to her at Dynasty. However, Storm says the next morning, she was reminded exactly who she was. Penelope Ford tries to sneak attack Storm, but the champion quickly gets the better of her, which results in another sneak attack from Bayne, who hits her with Fate’s Descent on the championship.

The Death Riders are backstage. Claudio Castagnoli challenges Adam Copeland to a match this Wednesday on Dynamite. Castagnoli says he’s going to beat him to a pulp and leave just enough of him to make it to Dynasty so he can lose another shot at winning a championship in AEW.

Jon Moxley puts over Marina Shafir and their mixed tag match with Swerve Strickland and Willow Nightingale on Dynamite. Shafir tells Nightingale to keep smiling when she rips her liver out and shoves it down her throat.

Let’s get to the in-ring action…

Jay White vs. Kevin Knight

  • The finish of the match saw Jay White hit Kevin Knight with the Bladerunner to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jay White

After the match, Jay White puts over Kevin Knight on the microphone. White says just like himself, Kevin went through the New Japan Dojo, and he believes we’re gonna see a lot more of Kevin Knight in AEW. The crowd gives Knight a standing ovation. White says this year’s Owen Hart tournament will have the best of the best. White says he needs to win the Owen Hart Cup, and he needs his shot at the AEW World Championship at All In.

Grade: A-

This was a great opening match on Collision this evening. Not only was it a great win for Jay White, but it also allowed a lot of fans to experience Kevin Knight for the first time. This was awesome all around. White’s seal of approval after the match sealed the deal. Good stuff!

Can MJF co-exist with Bobby Lashley in the Hurt Syndicate?

A vignette airs of MJF throwing out the pitch at the Texas Rangers game. MJF took the chance to take some shots at Bobby Lashley during it.

Mercedes Moné vs. Robyn Renegade

  • The finish of the match saw Mercedes Moné lock Robyn Renegade in the Statement Maker to win the match via submission.

Winner: Mercedes Moné

After the match, Tony Schiavone interviewed Mercedes in the ring. Moné declares herself in the Owen Hart Tournament so she can win the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In. Schiavone informs her that Billie Starkz will be in the tournament. Moné says Starkz doesn’t have the heart that Robyn Renegade does and puts down her trainer again. This brings out Athena, who takes out Mercedes and hits the O Face on Robyn Renegade. Athena declares this is her show now.

Grade: A

I’m combining the match and the aftermath in the grade here. The match was good, but the aftermath was excellent! We finally get Athena back on AEW programming and it seems it’s full steam ahead for her match with Mercedes next weekend at Dynasty.

Queen Aminata is injured…

Lexy Nair is backstage with Queen Aminata, and it’s revealed that due to an injury, she can’t compete against Jamie Hayter tonight and will be replaced by Billie Starkz. Serena Deeb comes in and gives Aminata grief, but she doesn’t want to hear it. Deeb tells her to read up on her book while she’s sitting at home on the shelf.

Top Flight (w/ Leila Grey) vs. Big Bill and Bryan Keith

  • The finish of the match saw Big Bill hit Dante Martin with a chokeslam to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Big Bill and Bryan Keith

After the match, Lio Rush and Action Andretti attempted to attack Top Flight from behind but were stopped by AR Fox.

Grade: B+

Fun tag match. Top Flight has all the potential in the world, and it’s nice to be reminded of the talent Big Bill and Bryan Keith possess when they aren’t being booked as Chris Jericho’s cronies. While I would have preferred to see a different match at Dynasty for The Hurt Syndicate, I’m confident after this match that the match at the pay-per-view should be good.

Another name for the Women’s Owen Hart Cup

Jamie Hayter is backstage with Lexy Nair. Hayter puts over her match later on tonight against Billie Starkz before announcing that she’s declaring for the Women’s Owen Hart Cup tournament as well.

Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom make their way to the ring. Daniel Garcia and Daddy Magic come to the ring as well to meet them there as Cole and Garcia are scheduled to go face-to-face.

Adam Cole says tensions are high, but he has all the respect in the world for Daniel Garcia. Cole puts over Garcia as a fighting champion and says neither of them got the job done when they faced each other. Cole tries to encourage Garcia to give him another shot at the TNT Title.

Daniel Garcia says he agrees with a lot of the things Cole said. Garcia says it’s been eating him alive that he hasn’t been able to beat Cole. Daddy Magic questions how many more opportunities Cole is gonna get and tells Garcia he doesn’t have to do this. Garcia says he doesn’t have to do this, but he wants to.

Roderick Strong says Adam Cole is one of the best wrestlers on the planet, and as good as Garcia is, he’s just not there yet. Daddy Magic takes offense to this, and Garcia tells everyone to calm down. Garcia says he will face Cole at Dynasty with no time limits and no one at ringside.

The Women’s Owen Hart Cup Is Stacked

Billie Starkz and Athena are backstage. Athena runs down Mercedes and says if you’re gonna be passive-aggressive, you’re gonna get laid out. Athena declares herself for the Women’s Owen Hart Cup and informs Starkz she’ll be watching her match against Hayter tonight very closely.

Dax Harwood vs. Wheeler Yuta

  • The finish of the match saw Wheeler Yuta catch Dax Harwood in the Seatbelt Pin to score the victory.

Winner: Wheeler Yuta

After the match, Dax Harwood argues with the referee and gets physical with him. This brings out security and Cash Wheeler to try and cool things down. Dax accidentally shoves Cash down, and things get heated. Wheeler walks out on Harwood.

Grade: B+

The downfall of Dax Harwood continues. The losses are piling up, and Dax is about to snap. Hopefully, he can keep his cool next weekend at Dynasty, or Rated FTR is going to implode.

Lio Rush and Action Andretti are looking for some help

Alicia Atout is backstage with Nick Wayne, Kip Sabian, and Mother Wayne. They are interrupted by Lio Rush and Action Andretti who are whining about AR Fox getting in their business. Nick Wayne says his business with Fox ended a long time ago. Rush and Andretti try to form a future alliance for a trios match in the weeks ahead.

Hologram vs. Blake Christian (w/ Lee Johnson)

  • The finish of the match saw Hologram hit Blake Christian with the Portal Bomb to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Hologram

Grade: B+

AEW adds even more women to the Owen Hart Cup Tournament

Lexy Nair is backstage with Thunder Rosa and Kris Statlander. It’s revealed that both women are entering the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. The two go back and forth about what the tournament means to him and why they need to win.

Jamie Hayter vs. Billie Starkz

  • The finish of the match saw Jamie Hayter hit Billie Starkz with Hayterade to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Jamie Hayter

Grade: A-

Athena comes out and has a staredown with Jamie Hayter as AEW Collision goes off the air.

AEW Collision Review:

Wow! What a great episode of Collision tonight. We had a lot of great in-ring action as well as really hyping up next week’s Dynasty pay-per-view. The women got a lot of focus tonight as the Owen Hart Cup tournament began to take shape. I really enjoyed tonight’s show. Bring on Dynamite next week!
