John Cena said that he plans on erasing Ric Flair’s name from the history books after winning his 17th title, a move that Flair’s daughter has some thoughts on.
Speaking to the Independent recently, Charlotte Flair was asked about Cena’s sudden heel turn and his subsequent comments. The WWE legend’s daughter — a legend in her own right — said that even if Cena wants to ruin the history before him, he can’t, and that she has her own plans to do something about it.
“You can’t erase history. History is facts. And if you erase my dad, you erase me. It’s not possible to erase the last name Flair,” said Flair. “I plan on breaking my dad’s record, that’s something I want to do and will do. But if John is the first to break it, then I will break John’s record.”
Charlotte isn’t as far away from her father’s record as Cena is. A 14-time champion, Flair could become a 15-time champion if she beats Tiffany Stratton at WWE WrestleMania 41 to claim the WWE Women’s Championship. As for Cena, he can break Flair’s record at WrestleMania if he defeats Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
