‘Ric Flair Act’ Introduced By North Carolina Lawmakers, Linked To Potential Wrestling Hall Of Fame

North Carolina is looking into a potential Wrestling Hall of Fame, and a new act named after Ric Flair has been introduced.

Laura Leslie of WRAL reports that the “Ric Flair” act has been filed in the North Carolina Senate. Per Leslie, the act “would earmark $500,000 to study the feasibility of creating a professional wrestling hall of fame museum” in North Carolina.

The act’s actual name, Senate Bill 404, is titled “An Act to Remember Iconic Combatants through Fostering Learning Awareness and Interest In Rassling”, and it would see $500,000 go to the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources in order to study the feasibility of a potential Hall of Fame. A report would be expected by the summer of 2026.

Leslie writes that Senators Jay Chaudhuri, Danny Britt, and Ralph Hise are the sponsors of the bill. Chaudhuri commented on the act as well, saying that it “celebrates professional wrestling’s cultural and historic ties to North Carolina. Our shared cultured heritage in this state is college basketball, NASCAR and professional wrestling,” Chaudhuri told WRAL. “Professional wrestling still hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves.”

Ric Flair is a 16-time world champion, and he has been tied to Charlotte, North Carolina, throughout his career.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
