Matt Riddle might be MLW World Champion, but that doesn’t stop him from thinking about the world of mixed martial arts and how it relates to pro wrestling.
Major League Wrestling‘s Matt Riddle recently spoke with Sportskeeda. When asked which wrestler he thinks could successfully transition from wrestling to MMA, Riddle took a quick shot at CM Punk before naming WWE Superstar Chad Gable.
“Well, not CM Punk, no disrespect, but not him,” Matt Riddle said. “He already did it. It wasn’t good. No disrespect. I think somebody I think that would be really good if he worked on Jiu-Jitsu, would be somebody like Chad Gable.
“I think Chad Gable could probably transition to mixed martial arts and dominate this. He is a high-level wrestler. If he gets a couple of jits guys, a couple strikers, he will smash them and wipe the mat with them. So I think him.”
Riddle also took the opportunity to put over Otis and Angelo Dawkins as two performers he believes could find some success in the world of mixed martial arts.
