Report: Rey Fenix Signed With WWE, Update On Which Brand He’ll Be On

Rey Fenix has signed with WWE, according to a new report.

Rey Fenix left AEW in March after his relationship with the company had soured. Fenix hadn’t wrestled since July, and he implied that he received inhumane treatment in a since-deleted social media post. In 2024, AEW reportedly added injury time to his contract after he and his tag team partner Penta were in contact with WWE. Penta entered free agency in December and signed with WWE. He debuted on the January 13th episode of WWE RAW, and he has become a featured member of the roster.

Fightful Select Espanol reports that Rey Fenix has officially signed with WWE. This comes one week after a vignette hinting at his arrival aired on the March 14th episode of WWE SmackDown. The report notes that the working plan is to have Fenix debut on SmackDown, but there is no word on when.

Rey Fenix had been with AEW since 2019. He and Penta held the AEW World Tag Team Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship. Additionally, they won the trios titles with PAC. Fenix is a former AEW International Champion as well, among other accolades.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
