Chavo Guerrero Returns To TNA, Takes A Dig At Dominik Mysterio (And His Mom)

Chavo Guerrero made a surprise return to TNA iMPACT as he prepares to wrestle again for the company for the first time in over a decade.

The former ECW Champion hasn’t competed for TNA since 2013. Since then, he has had an eclectic career, mixing wrestling with his work in Hollywood. He has been a consultant in multiple TV shows and movies, like Young Rock and The Iron Claw, while also appearing in the project.

He has continued to wrestle occasionally and even had a brief stint as Andrade‘s manager in AEW. However, he returns to the ring with TNA next week after his shock return.

This week on TNA iMPACT, Chavo Guerrero made a surprise return to the promotion. He interrupted KC Navarro and AJ Francis in the “First Class Lounge” in his hometown of El Paso, Texas to a huge pop from the crowd.

Chavo questions Dominik’s familial heritage with a great callback

After Chavo arrived, Francis warned that anybody who wrestled in WCW should “sit their ass down.” Francis then took a shot at Chavo, implying Dominik Mysterio was the “second-best Guerrero” in the family. This was a clear reference to the infamous paternity WWE storyline between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio that culminated with a “Custody of Dominik ladder match” at SummerSlam 2005.

“If I wanted the second-best Guerrero on the First Class Penthouse, I would’ve called my buddy Dominik,” said Francis, who was met with a chorus of boos.

Chavo took it a step further and said Dominik might not even be a Guerrero, claiming ‘his mom’ slept around a lot and couldn’t resist the Latino Heat.

“Well, the verdict is still out on Dominik. We’re not sure if he’s a Guerrero yet. We’re waiting to find out,” Chavo replied. “His mom did get around, and Eddie was damn good looking.”

After Frankie Kazarian came out to also confront Chavo Guerrero, he introduced two of his own friends. Octogon Jr and Laredo Kid came out to back him and Chavo challenged the trio to a “Lucha Libra-style match” for next week.

That match was made official and will take place on next week’s episode of TNA iMPACT.

These four weren’t the only NXT names that showed up on TNA this week, as Jacy Jayne also made her presence felt on the show in a big way. Catch up on everything that went down on this week’s episode of TNA Impact here.
