Royce Isaacs is one of the most prominently featured wrestlers in WWE 2K25, although you probably didn’t even notice him!
The 36-year-old is a current champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling, not WWE. Alongside Jorel Nelson as the World Class Wrecking Crew, he holds the NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship, a belt he won in January this year.
The New Japan Pro-Wrestling star has never had his character featured in a WWE video game. He’s never wrestled for the promotion and would have no right to be, so his inclusion in this year’s edition is a strange one.
It’s not unusual to see non-contracted talent work on the WWE 2K video game series. Colt Cabana, Jeff Cobb and Chris Bey are some of the names that did mo-cap work in various games over the years. However, Isaacs revealed his unique role in WWE 2K25 during an appearance on the B4 The Bell Podcast.
Isaacs explained that he was brought in to do voiceover work for the game, but only grunting. Whenever wrestlers are hit with a move in the game and need to grunt, that is Royce Isaacs’ voice. It isn’t the most glamorous role, but at least he can say he is in WWE 2K25.
“If any of you guys are listening to any sexy grunts in the game, I did some voice-over work—but only for grunts. They were like, ‘Alright, now you got hit in the stomach. Grunt like you got hit in the face. Grunt like you picked up something heavy.’ I did every grunt,” Royce Isaacs said.
