Claudio Castagnoli is clearly a big fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, with numerous references to it on his latest ring gear.
On Twitter, Claudio Castagnoli posted a photo of his new gear with references to Warhammer 40k. His jacket contained strands of paper with text covering them. At least two of them include poems from Warhammer 40K, as well as two of the logos from the game.
The right side of his chest features a quote about the Grey Knights Justicar, reading, “I am the Hammer. I am the sword in His hand, I am the Gauntlet about His fist, I am the Bane of His foes and the woes of the treacherous. I am the End.”
Meanwhile, a poem representing the Iron Warriors can be seen above Claudio Castagnoli’s right hip. It reads “From iron cometh strength, from strength cometh will! From will cometh faith, from faith cometh honour! From honour cometh iron!”
This clearly shows how big a fan he is of the Warhammer 40K universe. He’s not the only pro wrestler who is a Warhammer follower, as Shayna Baszler and Samoa Joe are also big fans.
Near Claudio Castagnoli’s left arm, however, he has included a “hit list” of wrestlers he has taken out in recent months. The full list on display includes the following names:
- Danhausen
- Bryan Danielson
- Chuck Taylor
- Darby Allin
- Ricky Morton

Claudio Castagnoli highlights why a single-minded focus can be a detriment
Claudio Castagnoli recently spoke with Rick Ucchino for The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, where he discussed the chances of him becoming the AEW World Champion.
He noted that not everybody can be the main character, and that at his age, being so single-minded can be a detriment. The Swiss star simply explained that he wants to be proud of every match, and be the best wrestler he can, and consistently.
“Everybody should aspire to be the World Heavyweight Champion.” Claudio Castagnoli said. “I think I may have realized as I’m getting older, that that single-minded focus can actually be a big detriment to me. Not everybody is the main character. Not everybody can be the hero of the story. So to me, it is how can I make the most impact?”
“John Cena said it once to me, ‘You’re only as good as your last match.’ And I very much believe that. That’s very much how I approach every single match. Every single match I wanna be proud of and I feel I owe that to the people who follow my career, and I owe that to every single person tuning in for the first time or for the 100th time. When I’m in the ring, they just know they’re getting the best consistently.”
