Scott D’Amore says he has spoken with Tessa Blanchard since her controversial departure from TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, and he doesn’t hold any ill will.
In 2020, Tessa Blanchard was one of IMPACT’s top stars, and she won the IMPACT World Championship. However, she was accused of bullying and using racist language. She was later stripped of the title, and her contract was terminated. At the time, she had been quarantined in Mexico due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Blanchard took some time away from wrestling, but she returned to the ring, and she has since come back to TNA.
In an interview with POST Wrestling, former TNA President Scott D’Amore discussed Blanchad’s departure. When asked, he said that conversations about Blanchard returning to the company “never got too far” while he was with the company. He also recalled talking to Blanchard two years ago.
“We left that conversation with saying what we felt we needed to say to each other,” D’Amore said. “I think letting go with grudges and not carrying that around is a healthy thing in life. What’s that saying, carrying around hatred is like being mad at somebody else and punishing yourself? Really, I think that’s what it is. I was happy to have a conversation with Tessa because I walked away feeling a bit of a lift off my shoulders.”
Scott D’Amore On Tessa Blanchard: I Hope She’s Grown
D’Amore went on to say that he did not hold any ill will toward Tessa Blanchard. He expressed his hope that she has grown. D’Amore also said that he hoped that she was in a better place in life.
“No ill will for me for Tessa,” he said. “I hope Tessa’s grown as a person. I hope we all grow as people. If I’m the same person now that I was 13 months ago when I left TNA, I’m failing as a human being … The wrestling world’s going to decide what opportunities and chances Tessa gets, and I hope that she’s in a better place in life and makes the right decisions and goes on and lives a healthy, productive life in or outside of wrestling.” (H/t Jack Wannan of POST Wrestling)
Blanchard recently defeated Léi Yǐng Lee at TNA Sacrifice.
