John Cena‘s latest social media post has sparked some buzz following his explosive promo on WWE RAW.
Cena came to the ring on the March 17th episode of WWE RAW, which marked his first appearance since his heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber. He addressed the fans and lashed out at them, saying that they had been awful to him for years. Cena stated that he was in an abusive relationship, and he said he was breaking up with the fans.
In a post on Instagram, Cena seemingly referenced his promo as he shared a picture from Friends. He posted a picture of Ross and Rachel. The picture specifically is interesting, as it’s from the classic episode where Ross and Rachel argue about whether they were “on a break” when he cheated on her.
Though they split up on the hit NBC show, Ross and Rachel ultimately get back together. It took a few seasons (and a drunken Vegas wedding, a divorce, a few one night stands and a voicemail confession), but they got back together and stayed together.
This has led some fans to wonder whether John Cena is suggesting that his story could follow a similar path. While Cena harshly broke up with the WWE Universe on Monday, perhaps there’s hope that he’ll change his mind before the end of his retirement tour.
Could it mean John Cena is telling fans that eventually they’ll make up again? It’s possible, but let’s just hope there’s no ‘hot girl from the copy shop’ or an Emily to further complicate things.
