Matt Riddle could be the first big name to join Vince McMahon’s new wrestling company.
The former WWE Chairman was reportedly interested in investing his billions in a new entertainment company. His life was spent running WWE, but he seems to be finding it hard to walk away from the entertainment business.
While rumors that McMahon was starting a wrestling promotion were debunked, Matt Riddle hasn’t ruled out following Vince McMahon in his new venture, should it happen.
Speaking with Going Ringside, Matt Riddle spoke about Vince McMahon’s potential new wrestling enterprise. As he is an independent contractor, the former WWE Superstar would be happy to work anywhere for the right money.
Additionally, he would be interested in jumping to this hypothetical new promotion in spite of his previous WWE deal.
“Well, you know, in any business—especially in entertainment—you’re eventually going to run into a shakeup, right? I like the shakeup. I think entertainment is a business of change.” Matt Riddle said.
“They got rid of Vince, but from what I hear through the grapevine, there might be a new opening for him. I’ve even heard Vince might have another company. I’m interested in anybody, bro. I’m an independent contractor. When I was under contract with WWE, I could naturally work anywhere, whenever I wanted, and for however much money I wanted,” added Matt Riddle.
WWE released Matt Riddle, a former WWE United States Champion, in September 2023. Riddle has been featured with MLW in recent months. He is the reigning MLW World Heavyweight Champion, and he will defend the gold at MLW Battle Riot VII. Riddle has been active on the independent scene as well.
Matt Riddle was also asked to name his hardest-hitting opponent. He gave Sheamus that honor and said the Irish WWE star was easy to work with. However, Riddle said two other current WWE stars were a bit more difficult to work with in the ring.
