Swerve Strickland discusses how WWE and AEW are different from each other.
Fans often compare WWE and AEW, though they are different in various ways. Strickland previously had a run in WWE, and he has become one of AEW’s top stars, so he has been able to see what makes each company unique.
Speaking on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Strickland was asked about the comparisons between WWE and AEW. He compared WWE to big box office movies and AEW to A24.
“It’s almost like you get the big box office movies and all that stuff over there, but over there, you don’t get green screen, you don’t get wires,” Swerve Strickland said. “Can you freaking act? That’s what AEW is. You have to act in order to perform in our films. We’re A24. The performances and the acting have to be pristine. But you can enjoy both. You can enjoy both, and both are successful. That’s the beauty of it.”
Swerve Strickland is set to challenge for the AEW World Championship at AEW Dynasty. He earned a title shot by beating Ricochet at AEW Revolution.
