A new report provides an update on Hikuleo, who reportedly signed with WWE in 2024 but has yet to debut.
Hikuleo had a successful run in NJPW, as he held the STRONG Openweight Championship, the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship, and the IWGP Tag Team Championship. He dropped the tag titles at NJPW Dominion in Osaka in June 2024, and he reportedly signed with the company. However, he has yet to make his debut.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that sources said that Hikuleo has been on the WWE internal roster for months. Main roster creative sources said that they were made aware that he had been signed. That being signed, he was not factored into creative plans upon signing. Sapp reiterated that Hikuleo was listed internally in the company.
