Latest Update In Ryan Nemeth’s Lawsuit Against Tony Khan And AEW

Ryan Nemeth‘s ongoing lawsuit against All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan has a new update.

According to a new petition in response to Nemeth’s lawsuit (via POST Wrestling), AEW and Khan are contending that Nemeth’s claims should be seen via private arbitration rather than in a public trial. The petition notes that Nemeth signed three separate contracts with the company — on March 21, 2021, January 17, 2022, and March 1, 2023 — all of which contain arbitration clauses that mandate any disputes be resolved that way.

No official decision on the petition has been reached yet, and neither Nemeth nor his attorney made any comment on the matter.

AEW and Khan’s petition comes just a few weeks after Nemeth filed a lawsuit against both AEW and Khan, as well as CM Punk. Nemeth previously sent a complaint to AEW executives and alleged that he was silently fired over a confrontation that he had with CM Punk. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported that Nemeth alleged that he experienced “abuse, harassment, and threats” during his time in AEW.

In the official lawsuit, In an update, Nemeth alleges that CM Punk “undertook a campaign to terrorize and intimidate [him], including physical assault.” He also alleges breach of contract, “breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing and intentional interference with prospective advantage.” (H/t Fightful)

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
