TNA World Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy says The Hardys’ run on NXT is wrapped, but they have “stuff” lined up with WWE.
As part of the partnership between WWE and TNA, The Hardys competed on the February 25th episode of WWE NXT, where they beat No Quarter Catch Crew. They then defended their titles against NXT Tag Team Champions Fraxiom at NXT Roadblock. After the match, both teams teased their interest in a rematch.
Speaking on his The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy commented on the potential rematch. He said that The Hardys’ run with NXT had wrapped, but they had “stuff” on their schedule with WWE down the road.
“Yes. I do think we would want to run it back,” Matt Hardy said. “As of right now, our little run with NXT is wrapped. We do have some stuff on our schedule to do with WWE a little later on down the road. Nothing specifically with NXT yet.
Co-host Jon Alba asked Matt to elaborate, and he responded by saying, “Just stuff, I’m going to leave it at that right now. We have stuff lined up with WWE.”
Matt Hardy On Fraxiom
Hardy went on to make it clear that he’d like to face Fraxiom again, as he was interested in challenging for the NXT Tag Team Championship. He noted that this could be a selling point.
“But I would love to run it back, especially when we gave our initial thoughts following the match, the first thing post-match is like, hey, these guys got a shot at the TNA Tag Team Titles and we were able to retain our titles, we prevailed but does this now earn us a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships because that is a tag team title that The Hardys do not have on their resume and The Hardys would like to have that on their resume,” he said. “I think there’s maybe a selling point there, too.” (H/t Fightful for the transcription)
