Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship on the March 19th episode of AEW Dynamite, and the winner will defend the gold at AEW Dynasty.
As announced on the March 12th episode of AEW Dynamite, Moxley will defend the title in a Street Fight against Cope on March 19th. The winner of the match will put the title on the line against Swerve Strickland at AEW Dynasty.
Moxley then commented on the news in a promo on the show.

Moxley previously defended the gold against Cope at AEW Revolution. During the match, Christian Cage cashed in his contract for a world title match, so he joined the bout. He nearly pinned Cope, but Moxley choked him out to win the match. Strickland attacked Moxley after the match.
Strickland, a former AEW World Champion, earned a title shot by beating Ricochet at AEW Revolution.
