WWE SmackDown viewership slightly increased on March 7 following the Elimination Chamber premium live event.
According to Programming Insider, SmackDown averaged 1.741 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.52 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode, when an average of 1.731 million viewers tuned in. The demo rating stayed the same as last week’s show (0.52 rating in the same demographic).
SmackDown was up against the NBA game between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Dallas Mavericks, which drew 934,000 viewers and a 0.22 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic.
What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?
This week’s show kicked off with a promo from Randy Orton calling out John Cena and Kevin Owens for their actions at Elimination Chamber.
Cody Rhodes cut a promo also calling out what John Cena did at Elimination Chamber setting the stage for their WrestleMania match.
Elsewhere on the show, Naomi admitted to Bianca Belair that she was the one who took out Jade Cargill. This led to Cargill coming out and destroying Naomi yet again.
In the main event of the evening, LA Knight defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the WWE United States Championship for a second time.
