Anthony Bowens enjoyed his time as a member of The Acclaimed, but he’s also looking forward to what’s next for him.
All Elite Wrestling‘s Anthony Bowens recently spoke with Denise Salcedo. When asked to look back on his time with The Acclaimed and what that run meant to him, Bowens said he believes they were the best homegrown tag team in the history of the company.
“Despite Max becoming a jackass, the Acclaimed, I mean, we’re the best homegrown tag team in the history of the company,” Anthony Bowens said. “There’s no denying that we had so many great memories myself, Max. Billy Gunn.
“Former tag team champions, longest-running Trios Champions, National Scissoring Day, the list biggest scissor party on Earth. I mean, the list goes on. So many good moments. I will look back on that fondly, but I am very excited for the next chapter. I was a singles guy coming into this company, so I’m very excited to hit the ground running with that and to see where everything goes. Because I have a lot of goals to accomplish, and hopefully they start soon.”
When asked what’s next for him, Bowens teased his future character in AEW but didn’t give too much away.
“It’s a surprise,” Anthony Bowens teased. “All I can say is that you are looking at the pride of professional wrestling. AEW’s resident five-tool player. And when I come back, when I show up, that is a mystery. I know when the perfect time is and you just have to stay tuned. You got to tune in to Dynamite. Tune to Collision. Tune in to the pay-per-view. You never know when the five-tool player is gonna show up.”
