Indi Hartwell learned a lot working with Dexter Lumis in NXT, but there was one aspect of their storyline she didn’t enjoy.
The pair were engaged in an unlikely romance in NXT. They had a rare incident-free wrestling wedding back in 2021 as Dexter uttered his first words – “I do” – when he married Indi Hartwell.
This was arguably the peak of Indi Hartwell’s run in the WWE and she enjoyed so much about working with Lumis during their time together.
Indi Hartwell recently spoke with MCW Pro Wrestling where she discussed working with Dexter Lumis in NXT. Hartwell said while she enjoyed every aspect of their time together, she jokingly said she didn’t love the kissing part.
“I enjoyed everything about it—uh, maybe not the kissing. No, I’m kidding,” Indi Hartwell said. “It just helped my creativity because I thought I wasn’t a creative person. But once we had that storyline going, it helped me come up with so many more things. It was so fun to work with.
“Same with Johnny, Candice, and Theory—we all got along so well in real life that it was so easy to have such good chemistry on camera. It was just fun. I always tried to make him break or laugh, but he never did. He never breaks!”
