During tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the director “Queen of the Ring” appeared on the show alongside AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm.
In a backstage interview with AEW, Ash Avildsen, the director, briefly talked about the upcoming movie. Avildsen highlighted the many faces of AEW who contributed to the film, including Jim Ross as a producer, and Storm, who is part of the cast.
Storm joined the interview, where she referred to Avildsen as “DeMille,” a reference to the legendary director Cecil B. DeMille. During the interview, Avildsen also seemed to adopt an accent when speaking to Storm, explaining to her that the film was PG-13 when she joked that her only regret was that her “gratuitous nude scene” was cut.
“Queen of the Ring” is set to release on March 7, 2025. Alongside Storm, it also stars Emily Bett Rickards, Josh Lucas, Tyler Posey, Kelli Berglund, and Walton Goggins, amongst others. The film follows the story of Mildred Burke, a WWE Hall of Famer and legendary figure in the world of wrestling.
