Matt Hardy believes Cope winning the AEW World Championship at Revolution would be a good thing for the company.
On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the TNA Wrestling star spoke about the upcoming AEW World Championship match at Revolution between Jon Moxley and Adam Copeland. Hardy believes that putting the title on Cope could be a good thing for AEW.
“It’s interesting for sure. Adam’s a guy who is a huge star and he has a huge following,” Matt Hardy said. “He will bring a lot of his fans and fan base to AEW, so I like the fact that he’s being used in the best way possible, I think building to a world title match between him and Moxley is really good. I would not hate it at all if Adam wins the AEW world title, I think that could be a good thing.” [H/T: Fightful]
Cope wants AEW to slot him in wherever he’s needed
Upon his return to the company at AEW Worlds End, The Rated R Superstar told Uproxx that he was ready to be slotted in wherever the company needed him. It’s clear that Tony Khan felt it was time to put Copeland in the title picture.
“We’re coming back, fresh off an Emmy nomination, it feels like the time to go, okay, we should probably use this talent who’s in the midst of some pretty cool things happening and highlight that, that’s just business,” Cope said. “So it’s my time now to move forward and compete for the title and be involved in that storyline. And at some point, it won’t be and it’ll be a different thing you need me to do. And that’s really how I’ve always looked at my position. Okay, where do you need me? Slot me in. I’ll make it work.”
