A new NXT North American Champion was crowned on the March 4th episode of WWE NXT.
In the main event on Tuesday, Shawn Spears challenged Tony D’Angelo for the gold. They clashed in a hard-fought match and battled back and forth. Late in the bout, D’Angelo seemingly hurt his back, but he kept fighting. In the end, he went for a spinebuster, but his back gave out, and Spears fell on top of him. Spears pinned D’Angelo to win the title.
This marks Spears’ first title win in WWE. He returned to the company in February 2024 after his previous departure in February 2019.
The loss brought D’Angelo’s reign to an end at 147 days. He was in his first reign, and he beat Oba Femi on the October 8th episode of NXT to win the title.
