Sonya Deville sees the differences between Triple H and Vince McMahon’s management styles but doesn’t think the experience was that different under each.
Triple H took over the reins of WWE creative in the summer of 2022. This was due to the shocking retirement of Vince McMahon. He returned the following year only to retire again amid a lawsuit and accusations of various crimes.
There are definitely differences between the two bosses’ styles while in charge. Sonya Deville spoke about these to Ariel Helwani on the Ariel Helwani Show. The former WWE star explained how she had a good relationship with both men and the differences weren’t that great.

Sonya Deville added that Triple H’s preference for long-term booking and his experience as a wrestler is what helped differentiate him from Vince McMahon.
“There’s pros and cons, but at the same time, as talent, you’re not affected too much by it. I guess it didn’t affect me that much—I had a good relationship with both of them,” Sonya Deville said.
“I feel like Triple H has things planned further in advance, whereas Vince was very much like, if something better came up that day, he would change it. But I respect both because I see the genius in both.”
“Maybe, naturally, having the experience as a wrestler—something Vince McMahon can’t relate to to an extent—yeah, he probably empathized with our scheduling and what we were going through. Everything felt same-same. Nothing really changed on our end,” Deville added.
Deville was released by WWE in February, and recently weighed in on if wrestling is still part of her future.
