Linda McMahon Confirmed As Secretary Of Education

WWE co-founder Linda McMahon will officially lead the United States Department of Education.

On March 3rd, the Senate confirmed McMahon, a former president and CEO of WWE, as the new Secretary of Education with a 51-45 vote by the Senate. McMahon was then sworn in at the Department of Education.

Linda McMahon previously served as the Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration during President Trump’s first term. In 2017, she was approved by the Senate through an 81-19 vote, and she served until she resigned in 2019. She also served as his transition co-chair following the election in 2024.

President Trump has already made moves to diminish and ultimately eliminate the Department of Education in order to bring education back to the states.

McMahon was appointed to the Connecticut State Board of Education in 2009 by then-Governor Jodi Rell. She unsuccessfully ran for the US Senate in 2010 and 2012.

Linda McMahon is named in the ring boys lawsuit, which was filed against WWE and Vince McMahon as well.
