College Chancellor Jumps Out Of Trash Can With AEW Title

The AEW Championship belt was in full view when the UNO College Chancellor bizarrely jumped out of a trash can after a big Omaha Mavericks victory.

The University of Nebraska Omaha celebrated winning the Summit League Championship on Saturday.

This has coincided with AEW running the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha on March 19th, which gave them the chance to reward the Omaha Mavericks while marketing themselves in the city.

The Omaha Mavericks have a tradition with trash cans in their team. After a coach decided to attack one in rage, they became a symbol of the team. The trash cans are used in a positive manner by the team.

This extends to the University chancellor. After the Omaha Mavericks won the Summit League, Chancellor Dr. Joanne Li emerged from the trash can on the basketball court. She did in a Mavericks journey while clutching a replica AEW Championship above her head.

She also Tweeted out, saying AEW that she is “ready for her match” in the ring.

“Feels great to be a champ! @AEW, I’m ready for my match.”

This wasn’t the only collaboration between AEW and the Omaha Mavericks. The Outrunners gave the team a pep talk last week in a clip that was featured on Sports Center!

The duo visited the Omaha Men’s Basketball team and gave them a pep talk before they had a game against South Dakota. Perhaps fueled by Magnum and Floyd’s inspiration, Omaha went on to score the win.

The Outrunners’ speech was highlighted as part of “Sunday Funday” on SportsCenter.
