The Rock expects unpredictability and exciting storylines in WWE on the Road to WrestleMania 41.
The company has already done the most shocking thing they could by turning John Cena heel at Elimination Chamber. This took the wrestling world by storm and created an incredible amount of intrigue leading up to WrestleMania.
Speaking at the Elimination Chamber post-show press conference, The Rock spoke about the upcoming road to WrestleMania. He told fans to expect “unpredictable, exciting storylines” and spoke about the creative process between himself and Triple H.
“I think they can expect the unpredictable, exciting storylines to unfold. I also want to encourage the fans, whether they are hardcore fans or not, who just enjoy the product—take your time, take a breath. It is all going to unfold. Not everybody will like everything we present, and that is okay, too.”
“I promise you, if Triple H was here, he would be talking about blowing things up. I have worked with him for a very long time—for decades. When we get together these days, what we do is think about the final boss, this character, that character, this event, this storyline. We start with what’s coming up next, then push ourselves six to eight months forward and see where we go.”
“What we often do—and this is the fun part about Triple H and I getting together—is take an idea that sounds good and say, ‘I think we’ll do this tonight’ or ‘Let’s do this at the upcoming PLE.’ Then we blow it up, throw it away, and figure out something better.” The Rock said.
The Rock: Fans Can Expect The Unexpected Leading Up To WrestleMania, But Also Predictability
Continuing, The Rock spoke about how, along with excitement, predictable moments that fans want to see will also be a part of the build up to WrestleMania.
“Leading into WrestleMania, fans can expect the unexpected and unpredictable moments. I think they can also expect predictable moments. At the same time, you want to make sure there are certain things you do to satisfy the audience on a weekly basis.”
“There are certain moments where we know, ‘We have to make this happen today because they expect it and want it.’ But maybe next week, we deliver something different.”
“I’m excited about WrestleMania. I was excited about last year’s WrestleMania—we created that dual main event over the course of two nights. I’m excited about every WrestleMania. This one is different, unique, and I can’t wait,” The Rock added.
