Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will appear on the February 28th episode of WWE SmackDown, and a tournament will crown a new contender.
Friday’s show will mark the final event before WWE Elimination Chamber. WWE announced that Rhodes would appear on Friday night, one day before he gives his answer to The Rock.
The announcement, courtesy of WWE’s website, is as follows:
“Last week on SmackDown, TKO Board member Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told Cody Rhodes that he wants The American Nightmare to be his champion and that he wants his soul. The Undisputed WWE Champion will give his final words before coming face-to-face with The Final Boss at WWE Elimination Chamber.”
Nick Aldis also announced that there would be a Number One Contender’s Tournament for the WWE United States Championship. LA Knight will face Santos Escobar, Carmelo Hayes will face Braun Strowman, and Andrade will face Solo Sikoa. The winners will clash in a Triple Threat Match, and the victor will be the number one contender for Shinsuke Nakamura’s title.
