Sean Waltman Is Coaching WWE ID Prospects Over Zoom

Sean Waltman has revealed that he has been coaching the WWE ID prospects via Zoom

The WWE ID Program was set up in October last year. The idea was to “ID” wrestlers on the indie scene, signing them to contracts while they remained wrestling outside of the WWE. This gives the WWE first dibs on bringing them to their shows if needed, giving them a head start on signing potential stars over the likes of AEW and TNA.

However, this is not the only benefit for the wrestlers. They also get coaching and help from WWE and their legends, including former tag team champion Sean “X-Pac” Waltman.

Speaking with O’Shea Jackson Jr. & TJ Jefferson on No-Contest Wrestling, Sean Waltman revealed his involvement with the WWE ID Prospect program.

The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that he has been coaching the wrestlers over Zoom. He explained that they watch the match together while Sean Waltman critiques it and gives them advice on how to improve.

“I coach those kids over Zoom. They send me the matches. We’ll play the match, then I’ll push pause, ‘Hey what the fuck was that?’ or ‘Hey, that was good.’ Help them refine things,” Sean Waltman said (H/T Fightful).

Sean Waltman (X-Pac) Says Kenny Omega Helped Him With Diverticulitis Battle

At the WWE RAW on Netflix premiere, Sean Waltman spoke with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture and noted that he had been diagnosed with diverticulitis last year.

“Earlier last year, I was in the hospital for eight days with diverticulitis,” Waltman said. “It almost killed me. After that, I lost a bunch of weight, like 30 pounds. So I decided I’m going to take everything a little more serious and get off my ass. I’ve been training every day.

“I feel great. [The recovery] was tough. It took a while to feel better. But now I’m feeling good. It came back a little bit, but as soon as I noticed it, I was in the hospital right away. All that to say, I’m doing great now. But I had a rough time.”

Salcedo brought up AEW star Kenny Omega, who dealt with a severe case of diverticulitis, and Waltman noted that Omega helped him.

“He helped me with it,” Waltman said. “I was in the hospital, texting with him, and he’s telling me what’s going on and what I should expect and everything. He’s great.
