Jack Cartwheel Explains The Benefits Of WWE ID

Jack Cartwheel explains how the WWE ID program has been a positive for indie promotions and wrestlers.

The WWE ID program was launched in October 2024 despite some criticism from fans. A number of independent talents like Jack Cartwheel were “ID’d”, signing WWE contracts while they still wrestled on the indies.

Cartwheel spoke with Denise Salcedo to explain how the indie promotions benefit from these wrestlers being ID’d. He said that the indie promotions get the boost of having a WWE-signed wrestler at their show, increasing interest in the product. Additionally, an up-and-coming wrestler having a match with a WWE ID wrestler means their match will be seen by the WWE, giving them more opportunities.

“I think it’s such a great thing. I don’t understand how anybody could think there is a negative side to it,” Jack Cartwheel said. “The idea that we will have WWE-signed talent coming to independent shows is such a great way for us to bring more attention to the independent shows. Perhaps they’ve been forgotten about or left to the side.”

“It gives a lot more attention to those promotions. Which is a great thing, and hopefully we can draw more people and attention to any show that we do. That’s why WWE ID is such a beneficial thing for the whole industry. Also, having any opponent that we’re having a match with, that match is going to be seen by WWE executives. Even if it is somebody who is pretty new to the business, we’re still going to send the match to them so we can know what they think of that match, that person gets an opportunity to be seen by very high ranking people in the company.

“A lot of the idea as well, which isn’t very clear to some people yet, a big part of WWE ID is we’re running a wrestling promotion through that Twitter account. We’re wrestling each other at different independent shows all throughout the United States. With different storylines within each other. However, it’s not happening on a WWE ID physical show. It’s happening at MCW in Los Angeles and it’s happening at FIP in Florida, it’s a nationwide thing where we’re having matches against each other and you can follow who is doing better and who is doing worse,” he added.
