Mick Foley Agrees His Hell In A Cell Match Is Worthy Of A WWE Hall Of Fame Induction

Mick Foley is no stranger to the world of a Hell in a Cell match, and recently spoke about whether or not he believes his iconic bout with The Undertaker is Hall of Fame worthy.

Speaking to CasinoBeats in a recent interview, WWE legend Mick Foley was asked if he thinks WWE will ever induct specific matches into its Hall of Fame, similar to how UFC does. Foley said he hadn’t heard of that concept before for wrestling, and said he does think his 1998 match with The Undertaker would make the cut.

“I have to tell you I’ve never heard of that before. The NBA Hall of Fame does that?,” asked Foley. “I don’t know if it would be the first one in, but I think it would be a, be part of the first intake, I would like to think so at least. I think that Cell match is the only match in wrestling history that people celebrate the anniversary of. Like they remember where they were and they like to relive it. It’s got its legacy of its own, which not many matches can say to be fair.”

Foley’s (then performing as Mankind) match against The Undertaker took place at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1998. The match is infamous for several moments, including The Undertaker chokeslamming Foley through the roof of the cell, as well as throwing him off the top of it and through an announcer table.
