Lex Luger Stands and Gets Out of Wheelchair Without Assistance

Lex Luger has miraculously stood up from his wheelchair without help for the first time.

The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion has been wheelchair-bound for several years. His injuries stem from his years of wrestling and football, and he suffered a spine injury during a cross-country flight in 2007.

He has always said his goal is to walk across the stage when he’s inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Lex Luger hasn’t made much progress over the years until Diamond Dallas Page sought to help the WCW and WWE legend achieve his dream.

In a video recently posted to the DDP YOGA YouTube channel, Lex Luger did something nobody ever expected him to do. The clip showed him working out with DDP, in an attempt to improve his mobility and even potentially walk again.

The video saw the pair doing exercises to build up to Lex Luger standing up on his own. However, this was in comparison to clips from 2009 where he could barely sit up on his own.

At the end of the video, Lex Luger manages to stand up with assistance. It was the third attempt, or “third times the charm” as DDP said. Somehow, he rose from his wheelchair and stood straight, even standing without the walker to balance on.

It was an incredible video and a testament to the work DDP has done to help various wrestlers and athletes.

Lex Luger is the latest in a long line of people that DDP has helped. Butterbean recently improved his mobility thanks to DDP, while Jake Roberts was famously “resurrected” by DDP in recent years.
