The biggest and most talked about rivalries in WWE mostly are the feuds between two Superstars who were the best of friends and then turned into bitter enemies. One such rivalry is the one between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
At the 2025 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event, Kevin Owens challenged Cody Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship in a Ladder Match. After a hard-fought battle, Rhodes managed to climb up the ladder and retain his title. Towards the end of the match, Rhodes hit an Alabama Slam on Owens through a ladder.
Sami Zayn also rushed out to check on Owens. But Owens did not think Zayn was out there to help and protect him. On the following episode of Raw, after Zayn wrestled CM Punk, the Prizefighter rushed into the ring and hit a Package Piledriver on his former best friend.
Following the attack, Sami Zayn challenged Owens to a match. The former Universal Champion named the date, it will be the Elimination Chamber PLE. Adam Pearce announced that the match will be an Unsanctioned Match. Recently, while speaking on the FN Barn Barner Show, Zayn said that when it comes to making amends with Owens, never say never.
“Look, I’ve said before, ‘No,’ and I’ve been wrong, so I don’t know. Maybe I’m just being emotional and I’m saying, like, ‘No, no, this is it. This is it for real. ‘ Maybe three, four years pass and you kind of start to overlook things. That’s just kind of how life is. I don’t want to say — never say never. I’ve learned that by now, but I don’t know. Right now, we’ve got an issue, and it’s time to solve it,” Sami Zayn said. [H/T Fightful.com]
