Kofi Kingston On The WWE Universe: They Don’t Like Us, We Don’t Care

Kofi Kingston is happy to embrace this new iteration of The New Day.

WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston of The New Day recently spoke with SHAK Wrestling. When asked about the fact that everyone hates them now, Kingston didn’t seem to care and believed he could make a t-shirt out of it.

“They don’t like us, we don’t care,” Kofi Kingston said. “And that might be a t-shirt, you know what I’m saying? That might actually be a t-shirt. They don’t like us. We don’t care. People don’t like to hear the truth. We have not said anything that has been a lie, we haven’t said anything that’s been untrue. We haven’t said anything that’s been exaggerated or fabricated.

“But people are mad because of what we said about somebody who has not been here, right? They don’t even know the situation. We are the ones who are in the situation. We’ve said this a lot where we could have very easily dropped E. We were frustrated with him, we could have dropped him, we could have beat him down. We could have left him a bloody pulp in the middle of that ring. But we didn’t. We just sent him home.

“We said these things that were true, that were hard, but they were fair. They were harsh, but they were fair. And we sent him home. He said he could be here every single week for us, right? He said he could be here so he has the capability of being here. How many times has he been on RAW since he said that statement? SmackDown? NXT? So where the hell is he? So why are y’all mad at us?”

When it was suggested that they might be purposely trying to get on the fans’ nerves, Kingston said they were just being themselves.

“To be honest, we’ve always just been ourselves,” Kofi Kingston said. “This is the burden of the martyr. You know, we always know that what we are doing is for a good cause, and whether the people get on board right away or they get on board later, it doesn’t really affect us either way. Our job is to go out and do what we think is right, and we know that eventually, the people will get on board too.”
