Orange Cassidy earned a title shot on the February 19th episode of AEW Dynamite.
The AEW Revolution International Championship Series began on Wednesday’s show. In the main event, Roderick Strong faced Orange Cassidy in a rematch of their clash at AEW Revolution 2024. The winner of the bout would earn a shot at Konosuke Takeshita‘s AEW International Championship on the February 26th episode of AEW Dynamite.
The two competitors battled back and forth in a hard-fought bout. In the closing minutes, Cassidy caught Strong with a tornado DDT. Strong drilled him with a stiff knee to the face. Strong countered the Orange Punch and dropped Cassidy with a back-breaker. Cassidy rallied and hit the Stun-Dog Millionaire. He then hit the Orange Punch for the win.
The broadcast team confirmed that Cassidy would challenge Takeshita for the AEW International Championship on the February 26th episode of AEW Dynamite.
Cassidy’s match on Wednesday marked his first bout since AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen on January 1st.
