Mercedes Moné is seemingly set to defend the gold at AEW Revolution.
At AEW Grand Slam Australia, Moné defeated Harley Cameron to retain the TBS Championship. She briefly got into a confrontation with STARDOM’s Momo Watanabe, who was in the crowd.
Watanabe appeared in a taped video on the February 19th episode of AEW Dynamite and said that she was challenging Moné for her TBS Championship at AEW Revolution. Moné responded by saying that Watanabe would have to show up on AEW Dynamite first if she wanted to face her.
Watanabe earned a title shot of her choosing at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty. There, she beat AEW’s Willow Nightingale, ROH’s Athena, and CMLL’s Persephone in the International Women’s Cup.
