Report: Bryan Danielson Backstage At AEW Dynamite

A former champion is reportedly backstage at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite taping.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson is backstage at the tapings in Phoenix, Arizona. There is no word on whether he will appear on television.

This is not the first time that Danielson has been backstage since he effectively retired at AEW WrestleDeam. There, Danielson lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley. He had made it clear that he would retire from full-time competition once he lost the title. Danielson was backstage at AEW Worlds End, and he has reportedly continued to work with AEW.

Bryan Danielson On His Future

Danielson’s future in the ring has been unclear, given his issues with his neck. Speaking with Denise Salcedo for Instinct Culture at the AEW All In: Texas on-sale event, he was asked to comment on how his neck was doing.

“My neck is not great,” he said. “It’s causing me to not sleep good and some of these other things. But at the end of the day, I’m happy. At first, it was a little bit tough. It’s like, for parents out there, it’s like the first three weeks that you have a child and you’re not sleeping at all, but then you get used to not sleeping very well [laughs].

“So I’ve just become used to the not sleeping. Yeah, I’m happy. I’ve just had an incredible time just being with my family and being with my kids.”

Danielson was also asked to comment on whether he would wrestle again, and he said it was 50/50 at the time.

“If I had to guess right now, I would say it’s 50/50 if I’ll ever…and I’m okay with that,” Bryan Danielson said. “I loved the time I got to spend doing this, but I also love what I’m doing now.”
