NJPW Renewls Deal With AXS TV, January Schedule Announced

Report: Former NJPW Champion Has Had Talks With American Companies

A former NJPW champion has not re-signed with the company yet, and a new report provides an update.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Kevin Knight, whose NJPW contract expired in January, has not re-signed with the company yet. Since his contract expired, he has worked both MLW and ROH/AEW tapings. Knight also worked for the promotions in 2024.

Per Sapp, Knight spoke with AEW’s Tony Khan and Rocky Romero during his ROH appearance, and he has been discussing the possibility of a new deal with NJPW. Sapp also writes that Knight had expressed interest in weighing his potential options regarding WWE to make a better decision. There is no word on whether he has had talks with WWE.

Knight is a two-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion. He and KUSHIDA dropped the titles at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19.
