Penta has been working through an injury for years.
During an appearance on Sheamus’ Celtic Warrior Workouts, Penta noted that he had torn his bicep three years ago.
“I broke my arm. [Sheamus asked if he tore his bicep]. Yeah, yeah [it’s still torn],” he said. “Three years ago, one wrestler kicked me and broke my bicep. No [I never got it fixed]. This is like warrior [laughs].”
The former AEW star has wrestled throughout the injury, and he now competes on WWE programming on a regular basis.
Penta Doesn’t Want To Be The Next Rey Mysterio
The fan-favorite is often compared to WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. However, as much as he respects Mysterio, he doesn’t want to simply follow in his footsteps. He explained his mindset while speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling.
“I don’t want to be the next Rey Mysterio,” he said. “I want to be the first Penta El Zero Miedo. Because I love Rey, I love Rey Mysterio like luchador, like person. But Penta is different. My style is different. My person is different. And for this reason, I want to be the first Penta in WWE.”
