Report: Update On Britt Baker’s Absence From AEW

A new report provides an update on Britt Baker‘s absence from AEW.

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker has been absent from AEW programming in recent months. She last wrestled on the November 13th episode of AEW Dynamite, where she lost to Penelope Ford. Rumors about Baker’s status have circulated in recent months, but there have not been any official updates.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Baker is taking some time off, and she is not done with AEW. Sapp did not provide any details. However, he noted that if people understood what she had experienced outside of the ring, they might give her more credit. Sapp also writes that Baker had been working on her “Cobra Kai” appearance.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Chris Jericho On Britt Baker

Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho was recently asked about Baker’s absence while speaking with Zack Heydorn for The Takedown on SI.

“You’d have to ask Britt that,” Jericho said. “I haven’t really heard either way, but I know she’s obviously a very valuable part of the company. She’s one of the OGs, probably one of our first homegrown stars. I think she does a great job whenever she’s in the ring. So I don’t see her leaving or going anywhere. I’m looking forward to having her come back on the show because she has a great character and a great presence, and once again, a great fanbase within AEW and within the wrestling world.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Dynamite as it airs on February 19th.
