Gunther On His World Title Run: I Don’t Think The Last Few Months Were Ideal For Me

Gunther says his run as the World Heavyweight Champion hit a bit of a rough patch.

Gunther lost to Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel. He then feuded with Damian Priest before he reignited his rivalry with Jey Uso.

Speaking with Lewis Browning for Mail Sport, Gunther noted that the last few months of his reign were not ideal. However, he said that he was feeling his mojo again.

“‘I don’t think the last few months were ideal for me,” he said. “I lost to Cody, and then everything that, that feud with Priest, it didn’t allow me to show the best side of me, if that makes sense. But I think now I’m back to my old self, I feel my mojo again.”

Gunther is set to defend his title against Jey Uso at WWE WrestleMania 41.

Bron Breakker On Gunther

WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker previously commented on potentially facing Gunther at the WWE Survivor Series post-show Press Conference.

“I think the priority right now is my Intercontinental Championship and having the best possible run that I can have. You know… Just do a great job of night in and night out. That’s where my focus is right now. I’m sure I’ll get to Gunther at some point and the World Heavyweight Champion at some point down the line. But right now, we are just focusing on this [points at the WWE Intercontinental Championship].”
