Mickie James Explains Why It’s Weird To Be Called A Legend

Mickie James still finds it weird to be called a legend as she appears on WWE LFG.

The former WWE Women’s Champion is one of the Legends on the new A&E TV show. She will mentor four rising talents and compete to win against three other legends on the show.

While speaking with Going Ringside, Mickie James remarked how weird it is for her to be called a legend. She finds it especially weird when she sits next to people like Bubba Ray and Booker T. James noted they were already legends when she broke into the WWE.

“It’s been really amazing to come out and come back for something that’s so unique. Obviously, the premiere of this show. First time ever with A&E. And then to be called still—it’s weird for me when they say ‘Legend’. I’m like, oh, it’s weird to me, especially when I’m sitting alongside people who I’ve considered mentors and I look up to so much and admire. You know, Bubba Ray, Booker T, who’ve had tons of success in wrestling along with training other talents to go on and have their own success,” Mickie James said.

Mickie James On Working With Wrestling Legends

Continuing, Mickie James spoke about working with The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels.

“But then The Undertaker, who in my first run with WWE was still very active on the roster and still very much the judge, the jury, the executioner when it came to the locker room and the person who you wanted to respect you the most, I suppose.” Mickie James said.

“And then obviously Shawn Michaels. Who I have always admired and looked up to and tried to emulate in so many ways. At least as a female, you know—to be that great. So yeah, every week I walk in there, I’m like, I feel like I’m still learning and I’m still, you know, hungry for that knowledge.”

“And it’s cool—it’s cool to earn, hopefully, their respect on a different level and to be considered somewhat an equal in that platform. It’s been unique, it’s been really interesting and humbling and amazing and exciting and so many emotions.” added Mickie James.
