Jinder Mahal has named a mix of WWE and AEW stars as five wrestlers he’d love to face.
The Modern Day Maharaja was released by the WWE last year, embarking on a career in the indies. While he hasn’t been contacted by AEW, he wants to face some of the company’s top stars in the future.
Jinder Mahal (now known as Raj Dhesi) recently spoke with Monopoly Events. He was asked to name five wrestlers he’d love to face in the future, giving a mixture of AEW and WWE wrestlers.
The former WWE Champion would like to face Will Ospreay, MJF and Swerve Strickland from AEW, as three stars he’s never faced before. He also wants a match with WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as well as WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser.

“I always love being a heel, so I’m gonna pick some babyfaces… well, mostly. Will Ospreay is someone I haven’t faced yet—wow. He’s not a babyface, but I want to wrestle Bronson Reed. I’m a big fan of his, and I think he’s going to do big things. Ludwig Kaiser is another one. He’s a heel right now, but I think one day he’ll be a very popular babyface. The ladies love Ludwig Kaiser!” Jinder Mahal said.
“MJF too—I know he’s a heel, but he’s done babyface before, so I’ll count it. And there’s one more. I’ve never had a singles match with him, but I did have a tag match, and that was back in my 3MB days, so it doesn’t really count. The Maharaja version of me versus Cody Rhodes—that’s a match I’d love.”
“You know what? Swerve Strickland would be a great one too. I’m a big fan of his. I really liked him in NXT. I remember going to an NXT show when I was injured, just doing my rehab, and that was the first time I saw him wrestle. He was incredible. He’s grown so much as a performer since then—he’s gotten bigger, he’s reached that main event, world champion level. Yeah, definitely, I’d love to have a match with him.” Jinder Mahal added.
