Report: Current WWE Regime Has Discussed Demolition Hall Of Fame Induction

Demolition might be closer than ever to a WWE Hall Of Fame induction.

Ax and Smash reportedly signed a new WWE Legends deal this month. The news comes after years of the team being excluded from the WWE fold due to their involvement in several lawsuits against the promotion, among other reasons.

Many speculated that the Legends deal meant a WWE Hall Of Fame induction would soon follow. Demolition is one of the most notable omissions from the HOF, but Fightful (via Fightful Select) is now reporting that the team has been discussed as potential inductees.

It was noted that Demolition’s induction isn’t confirmed, but it has been talked about by the current regime in WWE. It’s also unknown if Crush, aka Brian Adams, would be considered for the induction or if it would just be Ax (Bill Eadie) and Smash (Barry Darsow).

Demolition’s Ax never objected to a WWE Hall Of Fame induction

Demolition was once the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history. In the past, the pair said they believed the lawsuits they were involved in against WWE were keeping them from being enshrined. Ax and Smash recently spoke with Hitting The Turnbuckle about going into the WWE Hall of Fame, with Ax contending that politics with Vince McMahon stopped them from being considered. Ax said they never objected to being inducted, but weren’t losing sleep over being snubbed.

“Well, we never had an objection to going in (the WWE Hall of Fame). There was a lot of politics involved and now it’s changed like you say. Hopefully, the change for the better with our relationship. But we’ve never been in contact with anybody from the office and like you said before, the only person that made the decision for anything before was Vince (McMahon), and we weren’t on Vince’s ‘like list,’ I guess. But, we’ve never objected to being inducted,” Ax said. “We’ve never objected to being included in anything with WWE. So, quite possibly could happen. But one thing we haven’t done, we haven’t lost any sleep over it.”

Smash also said that they were invited to the 2024 Hall Of Fame ceremony. However, they turned it down due to a prior commitment they already made. Despite not attending in 2024, Smash took the offer as a good sign.
