John Cena was featured in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo of sorts on SNL50.
Saturday Night Live celebrated its 50th anniversary with a three-hour live broadcast on Sunday night. During the show, SNL looked back on its cast and guest hosts, which included John Cena. The WWE great hosted the show on December 10, 2016, and the SNL50 credits featured a brief glimpse of footage from Cena’s appearance.
However, this was not Cena’s first appearance on SNL. He also made an unannounced cameo in the cold open of the March 14, 2009 episode.
Triple H reflects on SNL memories
Triple H also reflected on SNL’s latest milestone by sharing a clip of his appearance during The Rock’s first episode as host. Triple H appeared with Mick Foley and Paul Wight on the March 18, 2000 episode of SNL.
The Rock went on to host Saturday Night Live four more times, officially joining the “Five-Timers Club” on May 20, 2017.
