Lyra Valkyria Names Her Dream Match For WrestleMania 41

Lyra Valkyria has named the WWE star she’d love to face in a dream match at WrestleMania 41.

The Irish style recently became the first-ever WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, beating Dakota Kai in the final to win the title. As a champion, she is looking forward to hopefully defending her title at the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania 41.

In a recent interview with Pubity, Lyra Valkyria was asked who she would love to face at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.

The Women’s Intercontinental Champion revealed that Asuka would be the wrestler she’d love to face at WrestleMania. She added that she was supposed to wrestle her at Backlash France last year. However, injury saw Asuka replaced by Dakota Kai in that bout.

“A match that got away from me would be to face Asuka.” Lyra Valkyria said. “That would be pretty massive. When I was first debuting on Monday Night Raw, I’ll never forget watching Backlash in France and that’s when I discovered what my debut match would be, which was supposed to be Asuka.”

“Unfortunately she got hurt and I ended up wrestling Dakota Kai, which ended up being quite poetic in itself as we circled back to me and Dakota in a big history-making moment. But yeah. That would definitely be a nice match to circle back to, to get to wrestle Asuka.” Lyra Valkyria added.

Lyra Valkyria Is Prepared To Defend Against ‘Absolutely Anyone’ In Women’s IC Title Reign

Last month, Chelsea Green made history as the first ever WWE Women’s United States Champion. Last night, Lyra Valkyria followed in similar fashion when she defeated Dakota Kai to become the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Naturally, these titles now make both women targets in the women’s locker room. Valkyria, however, isn’t fazed by that. In fact, she embraces it.

“Being the Intercontinental Champion has always meant that you are the best when it comes to what happens between those ropes,” Valkyria told WWE’s Jackie Redmond. “And that’s what I want this championship to mean, being the absolute best when it comes to the ring. That means that I am in charge of shaping what that looks like, what it looks like for the women’s division as the Intercontinental Women’s Champion. So what that means is I’m prepared to take on absolutely anyone.

“To be the champion at a time when, and I say this from the bottom of my heart, the women’s division right now is the best, that it has ever been ever,” Valkyria continued. “So I’m prepared for any challenger any time. It’s Rumble season. It’s Mania season. People are as hungry as they’ve ever been. I’m ready for anything. I am ready to start my reign as the Intercontinental Women’s Champion.”
