SGW Uganda Finally Gets Its Own Pro Wrestling Ring, Sends Thanks To Cody Rhodes

Soft Ground Wrestling in Uganda finally got its own pro wrestling ring.

The group received a lot of love and support from fans and top professional wrestlers over the past year due to their dedication of performing pro wrestling matches without the use of a ring. The group has seen visits from Mansoor and Mason Madden, and they’ve been sent donations through a GoFundMe campaign from Will Ospreay and Jordynne Grace.

“One thing that we can universally bond on is our love for pro wrestling,” Rhodes said. “With that said, you guys need a proper wrestling ring. It is on me,” Rhodes said. “My gift to you. The wrestling business has literally given me everything in my life that I could possibly dream of, and I would just like to give something back to you guys, welcome you officially into this big wide world of pro wrestling.” [H/T ESPN]

Cody Rhodes also promised that he would get them a professional ring, which took some time due to travel and shipping logistic issues in Uganda. Now, after nearly ten months the ring has finally arrived in SGW Uganda. The team of SGW Uganda took to Twitter to thank The American Nightmare for donating the ring.

“So grateful to @CodyRhodes for donating the ring to SGW! The kids, local fans & everyone involved are beyond thankful. Goals can be achieved & the future of wrestling just got brighter! Looking forward to the ceremony. @WWERollins student Master Toad will be at SGW Splash, 2/28!” SGW tweeted.

Soft Ground Wrestling Uganda also shared another tweet showing how they finally set up the ring and the wrestlers got to run the ropes.

“Ts a powerful reminder that growth, transformation and greatness often require us to let go of our attachment to comfort, constant gratification! Thanks to the generosity of @CodyRhodes, SGW now has its own ring. While the Softground Arena remains, in-ring matches are coming!” SGW tweeted.

Are you excited to finally see SGW had matches on a professional wrestling ring?
