This past week on NXT, the Absolute One Ricky Starks shocked the world by appearing amongst the crowd. He also cut a promo and mentioned that ‘Revolution is once again televised.’ Recently, former AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa shared her thoughts on Starks and his debut.
While speaking on the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa revealed that she was completely caught by surprise when she heard that Ricky Starks was on NXT television. She mentioned that she was at a Tijuana airport and a friend called her and broke the news that the Absolute One is now part of NXT.
“I don’t believe in Dirt Sheets. So, when I saw the news, I was like, ‘Ah, I don’t believe it until I see it official.’ And I was in the airport waiting for my Hulu to upload because I was in Tijuana and it was two hours behind. And I was on the phone with someone. And they were like, ‘Oh my God! Ricky [Starks] is on TV, on NXT.’ And I said, ‘Wait! What?’ I was completely surprised. Completely surprised. It caught me by completely by surprise.”
Thunder Rosa mentioned that Ricky Starks has worked very hard to reach the top
During the same episode, the former AEW Women’s Champion shared her thoughts on Ricky Starks. Rosa mentioned that he is one of the hungriest individuals in the business. She also stated that Starks worked very hard to reach the top of the roster in AEW.
“He’s one of the most hungriest individuals [that] I have ever met. I mean intellectually, physically, and his career. He’s extremely passionate about everything he does. Everything, his promos, like the way that he carries himself, and he takes that very very to heart. And I think now that he… You know, from NWA, then everything that happened during the pandemic that were not making… Absolutely zero money. He had a great opportunity to come into AEW doing something that he did in NWA, which was to put himself over in a way with his charisma and his abilities in the microphone. And his abilities in the ring put him there. And he worked extremely hard to get to the top at AEW,” Thunder Rosa said.
