AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite kicks off with quick shots of multiple stars backstage who will be in action later on tonight such as The Hurt Syndicate, MJF, and Megan Bayne.

The show goes to the ring and Max Caster is in the ring for his open challenge. It’s answered by Hangman Page. Max Caster tries to hide in the crowd, but it doesn’t work as Hangman chases him back into the ring.

Hangman Page vs. Max Caster

  • The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Max Caster with the Buckshot Lariat to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Hangman Page

Grade: A+

Watching Hangman Page destroy Max Caster filled me with great joy. An excellent ass-kicking to kick off tonight’s episode of Dynamite. It was a beautiful sight to behold.

The rivalry between Ricochet and Swerve Strickland continues

A video package plays showing both sides of the coin of Swerve Strickland and Ricochet following what went down last week on Dynamite.

AEW Trios Championship: The Death Riders (c) vs. Undisputed Kingdom

  • The finish of the match saw Wheeler Yuta kick Kyle O’Reilly low and catch him in a small package to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still Trios Champions, The Death Riders

After the match, The Death Riders continued to attack the Undisputed Kingdom until Daniel Garcia, Daddy Magic, and Cool Hand Ang made the save.

Grade: A-

I thought this was a great match until the finish. I’m very much over all things Death Riders in AEW. The sooner they drop all the titles and move on to something else, the better off the weekly product will be.

Cope and Jay White steal Moxley’s briefcase

Backstage, Cope hits Jon Moxley from behind with the steel chair and he and Jay White get the briefcase away from Marina Shafir and take off. Moxley is furious.

MJF is being interviewed by Renee Paquette backstage. Hangman Page interrupts and says it’s his interview time. Friedman runs down Page and tells him after he beats Dustin Rhodes tonight he’s gonna do what he hasn’t been able to do and that’s become a two-time AEW World Champion.

Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK vs. Jon Cruz, Aaron Solo, and Rosario Grillo

  • The finish of the match saw Samoa Joe hit Jon Cruz with a Muscle Buster to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK

After the match, Samoa Joe says their trio is called “The Ops.” Joe says they want The Patriarchy next week on Dynamite.

Grade: N/A

Fun squash match, nothing more. Moving on.

Chris Jericho wants Bandido out of AEW

Chris Jericho and Bryan Keith are backstage with Renee Paquette. Jericho says he would have happily paid out the bounty to Keith last week to take out Bandido but he failed. Jericho says he’s going to make this a teachable moment and he’ll cash in on the bounty himself as he heads out to the ring to call out Bandido next.

Before we get to ringside, Marina Shafir attacks Willow Nightingale backstage during her interview just so Moxley can tell Cope that he’s a dead man walking.

Chris Jericho and Bandido both make their way to the ring for their showdown. Before anything note can happen, Bryan Keith attacks Bandido from behind and he and Jericho beat him down until The Outrunners hit the ring to even the odds.

Big Bill makes his way to the ring and confronts Bandido in the ring, he goes to chokeslam him but Powerhouse Hobbs makes his way to the ring and brawls with Bill. Hobbs hits Bill with a spinebuster.

Cope and Jay White respond to Jon Moxley

Jay White and Cope are backstage. White says it’s just important that Mox makes his way to Australia for their match this weekend. Cope says if Mox wants his briefcase back he needs to meet them in the ring at the end of the night.

MJF vs. Dustin Rhodes

  • The finish of the match saw MJF lock Dustin Rhodes in a crossface and Rhodes passed out forcing the referee to call for the bell.

Winner: MJF

After the match, MJF continues to attack Dustin Rhodes’ arm until Hangman Page makes his way to the ring. Page and MJF go face to face and Friedman pretends to back down before tackling Page to the ground. Security comes out to separate them but that really doesn’t work and the two men continue to brawl.

Page and MJF fight into the crowd and up the stairs with the fans as the two men try to toss each other off the balcony. That doesn’t happen as the two men are finally separated. Page is escorted to the backstage area as MJF makes his way back to the ring and grabs the microphone.

MJF says he’s ready to go but Hangman is a gutless coward and says he isn’t coming back out there because he’s a loser just like all the fans there. Hangman returns and tackles MJF to the ground as security has to separate them yet again. The crowd ate this up!

Grade: A

The match was very good, but the aftermath made this for me. The rivalry between Hangman and MJF rose to another level tonight. You gotta believe this match happens at Revolution and I think the crowd is going to be extremely hot for it.

Megan Bayne vs. Maya World

  • The finish of the match saw Megan Bayne hit Maya World with the F5 to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Megan Bayne

Grade: N/A

Another squash match. It was entertaining, but as you know… I don’t grade them.

After the match, Bayne and Kris Statlander cross paths in the aisle as Statlander heads to the ring for the next match.

Kris Statlander vs. Penelope Ford

  • The finish of the match saw Kris Statlander hit Penelope Ford with Wednesday Night Fever to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kris Statlander

After the match, Megan Bayne comes out and lays out Statlander at ringside before posing over her.

Grade: B+

That was a really good match. But I’m excited to see Statlander step into the ring with Megan Bayne. That’s a match that many people should be excited to see.

Harley Cameron bares her soul on AEW Dynamite

What started as a music video from Harley Cameron hyping up her match with Mercedes Mone this weekend at Grand Slam, it’s suddenly stopped and shifted to a very serious promo with Cameron got serious and made it clear that she’s looking to win the TBS Championship this weekend.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (w/ MVP) (c) vs. The Gunn Club

  • The finish of the match saw Bobby Lashley hit Colten Gunn with a spear. Shelton Benjamin scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still AEW Tag Team Champions, The Hurt Syndicate

After the match, Brian Cage and Lance Archer came out onto the stage to stare down The Hurt Syndicate.

Grade: B+

A successful title defense for The Hurt Syndicate. It’s nice to have The Gunns back in the tag team division and a match between the champs and The Don Callis Family should be a lot of fun. The crowd loves to chant MEAT! Well, that match is gonna give it to them.

Will Jon Moxley meet Cope and Jay White in the ring?

Jay White and Cope make their way to the ring with the briefcase. Cope says the AEW Championship has been hidden inside the briefcase for far too long. Copeland goes under the ring and retrieves his spiked 2×4. Cope says if Mox doesn’t come out here and accept his challenge for Revolution, he’s going to smash the briefcase open and take the AEW World Championship.

Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir come through the crowd. Moxley says Cope doesn’t know jack about the AEW World Championship. Mox says he is the protector of the AEW Championship and he’s about to do something he doesn’t want to do because he’s such a nice guy. Moxley says he’s going to break Cope’s neck this weekend in Australia and then proceeds to agree to give Cope his title match at Revolution.

Cope tries to get the title out of the briefcase but all of The Death Riders hit the ring and attack him. White and Cope manage to get the better of them and White says at Grand Slam they’re going to be The Death Riders in the ground as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

While I didn’t love how much Death Riders we got on tonight’s show, the action overall was so good it’s hard to really be too mad about it. The amount of Hangman Page we got on this show kinda made up for it. This was a very good episode of Dynamite tonight. Can’t wait for Grand Slam this weekend!
