Jeff Jarrett reveals which make he thinks could steal the show this weekend at AEW Grand Slam Australia.
On the latest episode of his My World Podcast, All Elite Wrestling’s Jeff Jarrett spoke about the upcoming Grand Slam Australia event and believes that the Continental Championship match between Kazuchika Okada and Buddy Matthews will be the sleeper hit of the show.
“Well, and this may or may not surprise you, I want to see Buddy and Okada,” Jeff Jarrett said. “So, you have Toni. You have Jay White, I know he’s New Zealand, but you’ve got New Zealand/Australia. You’ve got Buddy. You’ve got Harley [Cameron]. So, a lot of home country flavor, if you will. Toni specifically, I think she’s up around Gold Coast.
“But seeing folks go back home in Australia, that’s a 17-hour flight from San Francisco. I mean, it’s a long way over there. These folks, they don’t get the opportunity to perform on a big stage, and they’re going to get to do it in a big kind of way. So I’m happy for all the folks that are getting to go back home, but my gut, it tells me Buddy and Okada are the sleeper of the show. I’m really looking forward to that.
“Look, Buddy has been in some good singles in the last year or two at AEW. I just think in this setting, it’s really going to be to another level, because they are in Australia. If in-ring workrate is your cup of tea. This will be the best show of the year for you. No doubt, in my opinion, no doubt it. There is not a ‘stinker’ on it at all.” [H/T: Fightful]
