Liv Morgan has detailed how hard her injury recovery was in 2023.
Back in the summer of 2023, Liv Morgan was viciously attacked by Rhea Ripley on Raw. The attack was used to write her off TV, as she had suffered a shoulder injury that required six months of rest and surgery in order to heal it.
She returned in 2024 to kick off the best year of her career. She won the Women’s World Championship and embarking on a never-ending rivalry with Rhea Ripley. However, getting through the initial injury was the toughest part.
Liv Morgan recently sat down with Eric LeGrand on the Cup of bELieve Podcast to talk about her shoulder injury. The former Women’s world champion revealed how hard it was, needing help to dress and brush her hair, among other things.
However, she thanked her great support system for helping her through and making her stronger than ever.
Liv Morgan On Recovering From Her Injury
“I had shoulder surgery in July of last year. I had dislocated my shoulder, and in doing that, I tore my rotator cuff, my labrum, and my bicep. That was my first injury of my career—I had never had surgery before—so I really didn’t know what to expect or what I was in for in terms of the recovery process.” Liv Morgan said.
“In the beginning, I needed help with everything. I wasn’t able to dress or undress, brush my hair, or put my hair up. Mentally, it was a big adjustment because I was so used to being on TV every week and being at WWE. Sitting at home for the first time in my career was different—I didn’t even know how I liked to spend my time. I went from having no time to myself to suddenly having all the time in the world.”
“It was definitely a challenge, but I had such a great support system. I was so excited to come back to work and be stronger than ever. And we made it back—we made it back on the other side.” added Liv Morgan.
